I knew Tommy only from Deep Purple. ( Last concert in Japan). I grew up with all kinds of music. Rock, soul , funk, jazz, Bossa Nova, you name it!. Just heard his band, this song, and was amazed by this funky and jazzy performence!!! Never thought that this man would play sucha music after hearing him in Deep Purple. What a multi talented player he was!!

The drummer is Nigel Olson. You can see how beautiful Nigel is in Elton John - Sixty Years On, 1971 (rare live clip). Unfortunately, there is no other video that has better quality and this video is not complete, but you have to see it. Because you've already watched 60 years on Studio and the live version is completely different

Elton was great at this time of his career,his 1st 6 albums were so great,and i had every one of them,but when he started wearing costumes and being flamboyant and commercial i was done

I saw another clip of this and it said it was in Tokyo. Kind of funny considering if look at Elton’s mouth you’ll notice the voice and lip movement is a bit off! I know he’s not lip syncing, it’s probably some technical problem. Did anyone else notice that?

The other members of Yes are fairly similar, praising the contribution of the absent Chris Squire. But it took Perivale’s Mr Grumpy to put a unique slant on the proceedings
